Diamond is the default combat class in Hardcore Factions, active whenever a player wears a full set of unmodified diamond armour. It has no active abilities and no energy bar. Its strength is raw durability: diamond takes less damage than any other class set and is the only class that can be worn indefinitely without a resource cost.

Because every other class trades armour value for utility, diamond is the baseline against which the others are measured. A team's frontline is almost always diamond.

Activation
All four pieces must be diamond, and no piece may be dyed or replaced. Wearing three diamond pieces and one of another material gives no class at all — you keep the armour value but lose the class effects, which for diamond simply means nothing changes. Swapping a chestplate mid-fight to a Bard or Archer set drops diamond instantly, and most servers apply a short class warmup before the new one activates.

Role in a fight
Diamonds hold ground. Everything below follows from that.

* Absorb damage and hold the line. Your Bard and Archer cannot survive a focus. Position between them and the enemy push.
* Focus fire on call. Damage output is identical across diamonds, so fights are won by everyone hitting the same target. Kill the lowest-health or highest-value enemy, not whoever is nearest.
* Control positioning with pearls. Cutting off a retreat is worth more than the hits you land. Watch for pearl cooldowns on both sides.
* Protect the support classes. A dead bard usually ends the fight. Body-block, tag pursuers, and buy time.
* Manage your own potions. Nobody else will heal you. Pot early rather than at three hearts.
* Track durability. Broken armour mid-fight means an instant loss of class and usually a death.

Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths !! Weaknesses
Highest effective armour of any class || No abilities whatsoever
No energy or resource management || Slowest class; cannot chase or escape
Requires no dyeing or special preparation || Fully dependent on team support
Cheapest to replace after a deathban || Loses one-on-one to a well-played Rogue or Archer

Gear and preparation
A standard diamond loadout carries a sharpened sword, a stack of pearls, healing and speed potions, god apples as available, and blocks for pillaring. Enchantment caps vary by server — check the rules page of the network you play on, since Protection limits are the single biggest difference between them.

Notable players
This section is a stub. Add players with a source — a VOD, clip or map recap — rather than reputation alone.
