HCTeams
Type Minecraft network
Versions 1.7 / 1.8
Main event Citadel
Maps 0.5 through 17
Era Golden era

HCTeams was one of the two servers that defined Hardcore Factions during the format's golden era, alongside Kohi. It ran Citadel as its map-deciding event, four per map and one per week, and most of the format's best-known rivalries played out there.

HCTeams ran at least twenty maps, numbered 0.5 through 17 with two half-maps in the sequence. Map 10 was styled Map X at the time and still appears that way in player records.

This article is a stub. The founding date, ownership, staff and playerbase figures all still need to be added.

History

Needs: when HCTeams launched, who owned and ran it, when it closed, and peak player counts.

Half-maps

Three maps sit outside the whole-number sequence: 0.5, 4.5 and 14.5. Half-numbering usually indicated a shorter or unscheduled map run between full seasons.

Needs: why each half-map ran and how they differed from full maps.

Citadel

Citadel was HCTeams' signature event and the basis of its map results. Four ran per map, one per week, and the faction taking the most is treated as having won the map. See Citadel.

Maps

Recorded results. See Map archive for the full table with sources.

Map Recorded
7 Sweatfest took Citadel 2
8 Sweatfest took three of four and won the map
9 NoLimit took Citadels 1 and 3
11 Nightmare took Citadel 1; NoLimit took 2 and 3
12 NoLimit took Citadels 1 and 2; Aloha took 3
14 NoLimit took Citadel 3
15 NoLimit took Citadel 1
16 NoLimit took Citadel 3
17 NinjaTurtles took Citadel 1, NoLimit took 2, Grimdale took 4

Factions

Factions recorded on HCTeams so far: Aloha, Dragneel, Grimdale, Nightmare, NinjaTurtles, NoLimit, Sweatfest.

NoLimit is the most decorated faction documented here, with Citadel wins across at least seven maps under Spyno.

Notable events

Map 11. Nightmare made two factions raidable consecutively without refilling on gear, a run still cited in arguments over whether cleaning up is legitimate. It is documented in Layer's video of the map.
