This wiki records the history of Hardcore Factions: maps, factions, players, events and results. Most of it doesn't exist anywhere else, so contributions matter.

Editing is whitelisted. Only approved accounts can edit. This is because the wiki documents named players, rivalries and ban histories, which makes it an obvious target for vandalism and score-settling. Anyone can still submit information, and it gets added with credit. See below.

What we need most

The tables across this wiki have far more empty cells than filled ones. The most valuable things you can send:

 • Map results. Who took each Citadel or Palace, on which map and which network. See Map archive.
 • Map dates. SOTW and EOTW dates for any map.
 • Rosters. Who was in a faction, with ranks if you know them.
 • VODs and screenshots. Even a blurry clip beats nothing.
 • Corrections. If something here is wrong, say so.

Sourcing

A claim with a source behind it is worth far more than one without, especially anything about a named person.

Good sources: VODs and clips, map recap threads, faction posts, screenshots with visible context, server announcements.

Not sources: "everyone knows", reputation, or something a friend said. Half-remembered information is still welcome, but it gets marked as unsourced rather than stated as fact.

When a claim can't be sourced yet, mark it rather than deleting it:

[citation needed]

Writing about real people

Player pages are about people who are still around. A few rules:

 • Records, not opinions. Map results and rosters, not who was overrated.
 • Superlatives need evidence. "Most bans ever" or "best bard in Europe" needs something behind it or it doesn't go in.
 • Ban histories are sensitive. A blacklist is a documented fact and can be recorded, but it needs a source, and it should be stated plainly rather than made into a joke.
 • Trash talk isn't data. Banter in a roster post doesn't belong in an article.
 • If someone asks not to have a page, that's a reasonable request. Take it to Theo.

Basic wikitext

What you want What you type
Bold text
Italic text
Link to a page Citadel
Link with different text Diamond
External link Label
Heading == Heading ==
Subheading === Subheading ===
Bullet * item
Category

Red links mean the page doesn't exist yet. Click one and you can start it. Special:WantedPages ranks them by how often they're linked, which is a good guide to what's worth writing first.

Templates

Reusable pieces. Type these and they expand:

Template Does
Skin Renders a player's Minecraft skin from the page title
Ring One Citadel ring medal
Player The player infobox

Use Template:Player for new player pages rather than copying an existing page's table. Editing the template updates every page at once.

Conventions

 • Faction pages use the (faction) suffix, since names like Europe, Titan and Fury collide with other things. Link as Titan.
 • Map pages are network-prefixed, because numbering restarts per network: 22.
 • Underscores in usernames must be piped, since MediaWiki strips them: T_Style.
 • Rosters list leaders first, then captains, then members.
 • Note the source type. A recruitment list posted before SOTW is not the same as an in-game roster mid-map. Say which it is.

Contributing without an account

You don't need the whitelist to help. Send rosters, results, dates, screenshots or VODs and a whitelisted editor will add them, with credit.

Needs: the Discord link or contact route for submissions.

Requesting the whitelist

Needs: how to apply and what the criteria are. Contact Theo.
